Announcing Boone & Carroll County Boundary Change Effective January 1, 2014

The Boone and Carroll counties boundaries have been changed!
Act 1067 of the 2013 regular session of the Arkansas General Assembly changes the county boundary between Boone and Carroll counties in northwest Arkansas.
The effective date of the boundary change is January 1, 2014.
In order to facilitate the timely transition of this change in numerous local, state and federal GIS databases the revised boundary file is now published and available for download on GeoStor.
The old boundary was created before Table Rock Lake was constructed.  The change in the boundary was brought about by the growing population and wireless 911 calls in the area and the fact that areas of both counties were cut off by the lake.  The change occurs at the Missouri and Arkansas State border near the Cricket Creek boat dock.
