2012 Election Precincts Available on GeoStor

The 2012 County Election Precincts are now available on GeoStor.

This data set contains polygons and attributes which represent the election precincts for the counties in the State of Arkansas. It includes the precinct name or number assigned by each County Election Commission following the redistricting process. The data was generated following the release of the
2010 Census data and was finalized in 2012. During the redistricting process a number of administrative boundaries were redrawn. The election precincts include multi-part polygons that are not contiguous in some counties. The compilation of this data is an effort of the Secretary of State to aid in election administration and future redistricting.

A tremendous thanks goes to each of the County Election Commissions, the County Clerks and the Secretary of State Office for creating, gathering and assembling this important collection of data.

The adopted House and Senate files on GeoStor have been updated to include the new hyperlinks of the elected Representative or Senator.  These links connect to the web pages driven by the Arkansas Bureau of Legislative Research web-site at www.arkleg.state.ar.us

These legislative districts and the legislative member technically does not become effective until January, however, the data is being updated now so that agencies and users can begin consuming the date and producing their products and information related to the districts.

School Board Zones Updated on GeoStor

School Districts throughout the Arkansas continue to complete the School Board Rezoning process following the 2010 Census.  The following School District Board Zones are brand new on GeoStor.

The data contains polygons and attributes which represent the School District Board Zones for the Public School Districts in the State of Arkansas. It includes the Local education Authority (LEA) identification number, name of the District and the Zone Number assigned in the redistricting process. The compilation of this data is an effort of the Secretary of State to aid in election administration and future redistricting.

Some School Districts in Arkansas Elect Members at Large which is the reason not all school districts are included in the data.

The Arkansas Road Centerline File (ACF)  has been updated. This ACF update includes: Clark, Newton and Pulaski counties.

SPECIAL NOTE:  John Hutchison has been declared the winner in House District 52 and Eddie Cheatham in Senate District 26.   The corresponding files below have been updated.

The adopted House and Senate files on GeoStor have been updated with the name of the new elected Representative or Senator following the results of yesterday's election.

AHTD Log Mile Points Now Available on GeoStor

We are very excited to announce the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) has added Log Mile Points for on System and Off System log miles.  These two data sets represent a major undertaking by the Department.  For every road on the State Highway System AHTD calculated the log mile point in 100 foot increments.   They also calculated these points for Off System Roads that are potentially eligible for Federal Aid.

The attributes include information such as Route, Section, Log Mile, traffic count, access, median status, Latitude, Longitude and a number of other metrics.  This layer was originally generated to aide the crash locators with law enforcement and the AHTD. Each crash on the State Highway System has to be reported with the log mile of the crash location. This layer provides an easy method for finding those log miles.
